Trying out the Zoella x Colourpop range

Trying out the Zoella x Colourpop range

Until about a month ago now I'd never ordered any makeup from the US. I skipped out on the Kylie phase because wow the customs fees people got hit with and also wow the prices and also wow I just wasn't into the Kardashians enough for that. But the Zoella x Colourpop collab just got me. I've been wanting to try something from Colourpop for roughly forever and I got the chance to do so with free shipping and no chance of getting hit with extra customs charges.

The packaging quality for the Brunch Date palette isn't the best if I'm honest, but it was only $18, so I can definitely live with this. I love the fact that it includes a mirror but I worry so much about putting it in my bag because there's no clasp or magnet or anything to keep the lid shut.

The shadows themselves however have been an absolute game changer for me. I'm putting it out there that I think they're more pigmented and stay better than my Naked urban decay ones that come in at over double the price. My go-tos are cinnamon sugar and maple syrup, but I'm ready to adventure into lots of different looks. My one warning is that though the shades are fab, they do look different on compared to in the palette, so well worth swatching first!

And then we have the Self Love Club matte liquid lipstick. This is a good red lip for me - slightly bluish undertoned, and dries into a real matte lip. I'm always so disappointed when I buy a red lippie and it turns out to be a mingle between deep pink and red. Part of me wishes I'd bought one of the nude lips because they look incredible and I wear nudes almost every day but I never learn and reds just appeal to my magpie ways.

Basically I wish I'd bought the whole collection (okay, wish I could have afforded it), because the quality is incredible for the price. What I really really want at this point is for Colourpop to be easily available in the UK. Though not as much as my heart longs for a Bath and Body Works here.

I've filmed a GRWM/my first reactions to the range over on my Youtube channel and you can take a peek here
