New in Liz Earle skincare
Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish has been my number one holy grail cleanser product for the past few years (along with half the rest of the UK I'm sure). It's something that I always come crawling back to in a flare up of spots, and something that I know will always take off more makeup as a second cleanser even when I feel like the first one's done a great job.
So I finally decided to branch out into some of their other products and I am obsessed. I've got some firm favourites, but if I'm honest all of them make me feel a little luxurious when I use them and help with my self care routine which is really important for my mental health.
The Instant Boost skin tonic is probably my favourite out of the new bits I've tried. You pour some onto a cotton pad (I've got some reusable ones with a hedgehog print on that I love) and sweep it over your face. The tonic smells so good and makes my skin feel fresh and soothed. I ran out recently and it's at the top of my repurchase list.
Hand in hand with that toner is the skin repair moisturiser, which came as part of a set of three with the tonic and cleanser. This is a lightweight moisturiser that sinks in quickly, which is one of the things I really love about it. It doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy at all, and feels very gentle too.
The eyebright soothing eye lotion is something I've found myself dipping into using now and then. I like to use it on days I've worn makeup (which have been few and far between in lockdown) to help soothe my eyes after heavy duty wear. I have really sensitive eyes and I haven't found an eye cream yet that doesn't irritate them, but this lotion is more watery and a few sweeps over my eyes haven't aggravated them yet.
The gentle face exfoliator is a twice a week kind of product that I use on days where I'm a bit gentler with the rest of my skincare routine. I have quite sensitive skin so exfoliators with physical exfoliants rather than chemical ones are sometimes a bit too rough for my skin. This however didn't leave any redness, my skin felt so soft after and it's something that I love doing.
And finally the Cica restore skin paste was something I was so excited to try. It's another thing that's a couple of nights' a week product, but makes my skin feel great. It feels like a heavy duty cream that really moisturises my skin well so I use it before bed, but again doesn't feel greasy at all. It's designed to target redness, but I haven't quite used it consistently enough to know if it does help a lot with that or not.
Have you picked up any new skincare bits recently?
