Trying out Soap and Glory makeup

I think it's pretty clear by this point that I'm no beauty blogger, BUT makeup does make me feel that extra snippet more confident, especially when I'm at work. Soap & Glory have been one of my favourite skincare brands for a couple of years now, and mostly because their products just smell so damn good. Now though, I'm a full convert to their makeup range too, and it's definitely one of the most underrated ones I've come across.

Eyeliner will always be my only response to 'if you could only have one makeup item for the rest of your life, what could it be?'. My flicks may be mismatched, and the lines may end up too thick where I have to keep fixing my mistakes, but once I have a swish of liner on, I feel 100% more composed. So, naturally, I got two types to try.

I can honestly say at this point that the Supercat eyeliner pen is the best eyeliner I've ever used. My last one was Kat Von D's tattoo liner and at almost triple the price, it's a little harder to use and isn't any bolder or longer lasting than Soap and Glory's £6.50 one. Supercat looks and feels like a felt tip pen, making it easy even for me to glide on my lids and make a smooth line. It's ideal if you're in a rush and want a quick flick, it's buildable, it's a bold black and I just love it.

To go alongside this, I picked up Smoulder Kohl to go on my lower lash line. On nights (or days) where I'm going heavy on the eye makeup, it's nice to have the full deal, and I'm just not about putting liquid pen liner in my eye. I've tried this out on its own as a top lid liner as well and it's a fab backup. It doesn't melt off in the heat, and it's pretty smudge-proof as pencil liners go.

Boots have their 3 for 2 deal on Soap and Glory's line, so I couldn't leave the store without getting something extra to make a trio. Their Kick-Ass concealer is something I've heard a lot about, and as someone with some heavy duty eye-bags, I'm really looking to get into using concealer more often.

This product contains three concealers in one. There's a duo of creamy product: the left is for under your eyes, the right is for any blemishes, and there's a little mirror for when you're on the go. The top section of this has a powder and puffer to set the creamy products. This makes it £10 for three concealing products, and if that's not a bit of a steal, I don't know what is.

The blemish one blends perfectly with my foundation, and doesn't leave me with a pasty patch over my spots that makes it even more obvious they exist. But I've been saving that for days where I really want my makeup to be on point, and just using the under-eye one for day-to-day looks. I swipe a little under each eye, give it a few seconds to settle, rub it in and then powder it. So easy, and it just absolutely lifts the murky greyness out of my face.

What other Soap & Glory makeup bits would you recommend?

  1. I can't believe I've still never tried anything from Soap & Glory. I always forget this brand exists. The eyeliner pen and concealers sound amazing!

    1. You need to give them a go! They've got a stand in most Boots stores and I've always walked past it (I have regrets now!)

  2. Supercat liner is an unsung hero - I'll be going back to it myself once I've finished up my current Kat Von D! They have a great mascara too - and that concealer looks fab!

    1. It really is! I'm shocked that I haven't heard more people raving about it by now. Ooh I'll have to check their mascara out
