Can we just talk about Dumbledore's apparent homosexuality for a moment? I thought that when I re-read the book I'd come across hints and clues about the fact that Dumbledore was gay. But do you know what? There was absolutely nothing. And that made me rage. I'd rather no LGBT+ representation than an author to pretend that it's there when it's not.

Re-reading the Harry Potter series: what I learnt

Wow, looking back at the Harry Potter series with an adult's perspective you can see there's actually quite a lot wrong with the series! I'm definitely going to have to take a trip down memory lane myself soon and do a re-read of HP. x www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x
ReplyDeleteThere really is! But I still loved it, and re-reading it was so fun

I literally wrote myself a reminder note the other day to go back and re-read the HP series, because I wanted something good to read and I realised that the last time I read those books I would've been really young as well!
ReplyDeleteI found your takes on the books after a re-read really interesting, but I'm kind of disappointed with Ron! I love him in the movies and that annoys me that he was kind of an ass in the books. I do remember with the books feeling really iffy about Dumbledore though. The movies make him seem like a god but I remember when I read the final books...I sort of hated him by the end.

I loved doing it, and I'd forgotten how long it had been since I'd done it! I was so gutted re-reading it to realise that Ron was a bit of a bully, I really think he's been portrayed differently in the films
