February favourites and life update

February favourites and life update

February absolutely whizzed by (let's use this as my reason for this going up so late). I've been focusing on trying to take some time out and actually switch off a little, so things have been a little more quiet on this blog than normal. But, once I've got a grip on, well, life, it should all get back to normal.

Aside from having a genuinely good Valentine's day, February didn't really hold much for me. This month I'm off to my home town to visit family, hopefully booking my driving test (eek) and decluttering the house for when we move next month.

Beauty

LUSH was very much on my radar this month. Their BB Seaweed fresh face mask has absolutely been taking any spots I have right down. I pop it on twice a week whenever my skin is feeling like it's flaring up, and it soothes my skin. It's my go-to and now that I've finally run out of it I'll be heading out to repurchase a tub this week.

The Beast from the East waged war on my prone-to-being-dry skin last week, so the Zoella snow soft lip balm and The Body Shop's Moringa body butter were my absolute lifesavers. The former smells like sweet mints, and I'm mildly addicted to using it now. TBS's moringa range is my all time favourite from them: I always bring bits from it on holiday with me, so the scent always reminds me of being off on my holibobs. Basically these have been an absolutely vital part of my self care routine to keep me happy as well as to keep my eczema, dry skin and chapped lips at bay.

My final beauty pick for the month is LUSH's Santa Belly shower jelly. I won't lie, this is up in this list purely for its scent. It's filled with apple juice and star anise which combine to make the most beautiful aroma IMO. I'm not too keen on the formula of a shower jelly (it just crumbles away after a while I always find), but I would put up with it over and over again because LUSH don't do anything else in this scent!

Lifestyle

As Spring's on its way, I've been filling our house with tulips again, and I adore them. They're my all-time favourite flowers, and I love that they remind me that longer, brighter days are on their way.

I've read so much this month; as I've trying to have less time spent constantly working and stressing over the little things, I've found more time to chill out in my bed with a book. Which to be honest, has been pretty blissful. My fave read of February has to be The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. I've got a full post all about it here, but it's basically a dystopian look into a world that could be our future if we don't change the way we act.

    1. I'm so glad someone's with me on that one, I feel like it gets completely overlooked because of the rest of the Christmas range!

  4. Skincare always happens to be my faves but also, I’m currently obsessed with The korean boyband BTS. I can’t get enough of them. Now I’m learning the language so I can watch their videos without subtitles!
