Dairy Free Tropical Smoothie Recipe

Dairy Free Tropical Smoothie Recipe

I don't know about anyone else, but the thought of getting up in the morning and exercising always sometimes makes me want to stay permanently wrapped up in bed. So, I decided to start making smoothies to perk me up a bit and get me ready for the day. This is pretty much what this one is designed for - getting you ready for the day on a slow morning.

The chia seeds in it get a gelatinous coating when they hit moisture, so expand in your stomach, which mean they help fill you up quicker. Plus, the vegetables make sure you get some extra nutrients in, without it feeling like you're eating greens. This smoothie could also be good for hitting the 3 o-clock blues (aka that point in the day when napping feels like it would make you 1000x more happy than working). The recipe only takes about five minutes from start to finish.

Ingredients (makes 1 large smoothie):

1 banana
1 apples
3 strawberries
1 broccoli floret
1/2 kiwi
2 slices pineapple
handful spinach leaves
teaspoon chia seeds and flax seeds
75ml coconut milk

1.) Peel and chop the banana, pineapple, kiwi and apple.

2.) Take the leaves off of the strawberries and cut them in half.

3.) Put all of the fruits, vegetables and seeds into a blender. Add the coconut milk.

4.) Blend and enjoy.

What's your favourite smoothie to wake you up in the morning?
