Rimmel summer gel nail polishes*

2017 has been the year of new beauty discoveries for me. They're things everyone else has already found it seems, but that I've held back from doing for years. First I gave getting my brows threaded a go: FYI it hurts more than waxing at the time, but hurts for less time and lasts for longer. Then, I tried shellac. And I fell in love. I felt feminine and in control and confident. But my nails? They didn't enjoy it so much. After six weeks straight with shellac on (in 2 different shades), my nails were a mess. Brittle, thin, grey. Despite wanting to get shellac done again immediately, I needed to listen to my body and take a break. 
So, when these summery gel nail polishes* from Rimmel landed on my doorstep it brought a massive smile to my face. I mean, I'm still shit at painting my nails, so the going is tough, but I've got another option! These polishes are far less abrasive for my nails, and yes, they don't last as long as a professional gel nail treatment, but they last longer than any other at home polishes I've tried.
There are two parts to the process of getting these nails on: step 1 is using the color and step 2 is using the clear gel top coat* to keep things secure. I've got Dive Right In* on at the moment, which is the electric blue shade you can see in the photos. It's the perfect beachy blue for summer, and if I was going away again soon this would be what I'd reach for!
