My idea of the perfect cosy night in (AD)

The perfect cosy night in (AD)
I'm sure it'll come as no shock to hear that I'm 100% more of a 'staying in in my joggers with a takeout' than a 'dancing the night away' kinda girl. I still like the latter on occasion, but if I had a choice? I'd almost always go with snuggling up indoors

As it's getting colder (I'm wrapped up in a hoodie and a dressing gown even though it's midday as I'm writing this?! Not okay), and the days are getting darker, it can be so easy to feel more down than usual. Going out is way more of an effort and sometimes staying in can seem like a bit of a let down. BUT, I'm going to chat about my perfect idea of a cosy night in because it's what I plan on doing tonight and I canNOT wait. A cosy night in just isn't complete without spending some time chilling in front of the TV really, is it? The Panasonic Oled TV is pretty much the TV of my dreams. At the moment our TV is over 10 years old (in fact, almost definitely a bit more than that). It does the job, but can you imagine having a smart TV? The dream.

First up, let's get cosy. Wear what makes you feel good. If putting on your best winged eyeliner and some sexy pants makes you happy, then do that. If you're happiest in your fluffy dressing gown and cosy bed slippers, then do that. Or do all of the above at the same time.

I find it really hard to switch off, so to get all cosied up I start a lil pamper prep. God I'm so ready for it to be this evening already. Saturday nights were made for takeout, so I'm gonna be ordering my fave, and then whilst it's on its way, getting fully ready to live my best life. First, it's time for a facemask because my skin really bloody needs it. Then, I'm gonna be popping a little olive oil hair mask on. Yes, it makes me look like a slicked back slug but it's totally worth it for how soft and shiny my hair's gonna be in the morning. Paint yo nails, massage some hand cream in, and moisturise; do whatever makes you feel pampered.

Aaaaand it's takeout time. No takeout time is complete without lying on the sofa, surrounded by food, watching something. Just me?  Anywho, it's time to whack the ultimate feel-good film on. My go-tos are anything Disney, 10 Things I Hate About You, or a good old school Hilary Duff movie. They're the best. Make yourself the biggest hot drink you can (preferably smothered in whipped cream) and relax.

No full on cosy night in is complete without a long bath really, is it? I've just made the move to put a whole bunch of candles in my bathroom and now I'm just not sure why I didn't do it before? Light some candles, put your fave bath bomb/bubble bath in, grab a book or pop a podcast on and you're good to go. I like to include a little bit of lavender somewhere in my bath routine to help me get really zen and ready for sleep. It makes such a difference; I can ease myself into bed post bath fully destressed.

Honestly I'm now full on ready for it to be this evening already because this is my DREAM. Going out is all about treating yoself, and having a good time, but it doesn't mean that staying in can't be the same. Don't feel pressured to force yourself out of the house this evening if you don't want to; you can still have the best time cosied up on your sofa!

  4. I never go out and never have really apart from a rare dinner out with the family (which is usually around 6pm haha). So what you've described is and forever will be my perfect night in. I usually cosy up to old episodes of Gilmore Girls and make some popcorn too ;) xxx

    1. I really feel as though I'm never going to go back to being someone who much prefers going out over staying in - it's just not really me!

    1. I notice SUCH a difference in my hair and skin when I use masks, and it's so easy to forget how nice it feels to take that time to make your body really feel good.

  6. I'm definitely the kind of girl who vastly prefers staying in to going out. Especially when it's cold and dark outside. This sounds like the perfect evening - any evening with a takeout is a good evening though ;) x www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x
