NEW LUSH Naked Winter skincare products*
Winter really feels as though it's here now. It's less than 5 weeks until Christmas (and guess who hasn't really started their Christmas shopping? *raises hand*), morning frosts are becoming more regular and holy poop on a scoop I am living for steamy showers and hot baths.
This post is something that I'm hella excited about because omg I'm collaborating with LUSH. I mean??? This is the dream, right? LUSH offered to send me some of their new naked products, and I'm SO ready to chat about them because reducing my plastic waste is something I'm really working hard on (and I've got a post on some easy ways to do the same here). Their naked products essentially come plastic waste free. They're not bottled, and instead are more solid than their plastic-contained counterparts.
First up, let's chat the naked shower gel Bubbly*. It's full on citrusy, which isn't a scent I'd normally go for, but is undeniably Christmassy. You run it under the tap for a second or two, and then rub between your hands to lather up, or go straight onto your skin. I've been using it for a week and a bit now without really seeing any difference in its size, so I'm anticipating it lasting a good amount of time. I've popped mine onto a little soap dish now, making sure that it's out of the stream of water in the shower when I'm not using it, so that it doesn't get wasted. It's so easy to lather up, and I'm actually preferring it over regular shower gels at the moment, because it's a lot easier to see when you've got enough on your hands to get going.
Then we have the Buck's Fizz* body conditioner. I was a bit skeptical about this at first - I figured if I rinsed it off, it wasn't really going to help moisturise my skin. But I've totally gone 180 on this. I had a nice long bath last weekend, and spent a few minutes massaging into my skin: I'm not sure my skin's ever been that soft. It did feel a little waxy, even after I got out of the bath, but I quite liked it - my skin felt even better the next morning. It also really does smell like Bucks Fizz, and that makes it a winner in my book any day of the week.
And finally there's the salt and peppermint bark* body scrub. I've actually tried this a few times before and LOVED it. I'm always a little wary with scrubs because the microbeads in them can be really harmful, but as this is a salt scrub it doesn't contain any. Oh, and it totally smells like candy canes. It's my favourite thing for wearing down rough heels, and has been my go-to for the last few winters!
